Abstract

Sir George Gresley writes to Sir Thomas Puckering from Essex House, London, remarking that 'My Lord of Dorset is become a great husband'. Dorset has let his house at Salisbury Court to the Queen for the resident French ambassador, and 'the rest of his stables and outhouses' for £1000 fine and £100 per annum to the Master of Revels to make a playhouse for the Children of the Revels.
