Abstract

The Privy Council orders, on the King's authority, that all forms of public spectacle be suppressed while the plague is in force. The suppression order appears twice in this day's register entry: the first orders the Queen's Lord Chamberlain to suppress her players, and the second orders the King's Lord Chamberlain to suppress all performances.
