John Heminges makes his will on 9 October 1630. He makes provision for the 'moity or one half of the yeerely benefitt and profitt of the severall partes which I haue by lease in the severall Playhowses of the Globe and Blackfyers' to be used for the payment of his outstanding debts. He notes several monetary legacies, including 10s for his fellow sharers and King's Men players for the purchase of rings 'for remembrances of me,' the amounts of which are also to be taken from the sale of his property and the 'yeerely proffitt and benefitt' of his shares in the Globe and Blackfriars. Heminges specifies that his shares in the playhouses should continue to be 'imployed in playing' to maintain their profitability.
