The panoramic view of London in Norden's 1600 map depicts all four Bankside theatres as polygonal. As the evidence suggests that at least one of these theatres was round -- and the inset map depicts all four as such -- Shapiro contends that we must question the accuracy of the map's detail (p 29). Shapiro speculates whether Norden indeed supplied the panoramic view himself, or whether this is a more 'conventional' and 'artistic' interpretation of the cityscape provided by the engraver (p 30).
