Abstract

Edward Alleyn records his purchase of the Beargarden in December, 1594, at a total cost of £450: £200 to 'Mr Burnabye,' and £250 for the 'Patten[t].] His profits, at £60/year over 16 years, amount to £960; he sells the property to Henslowe in February, 1610, at a further profit, for £580.
