Abstract

In a dedicatory poem appended to the 1652 quarto of Richard Brome's 'The Northern Lass,' Ben Jonson addresses Brome as his 'old Faithfull Seruant' and commends him for serving his 'A Prentise-ship' as a poet by learning the 'old Arts' and 'Comick Lawes' of which Jonson professes to be 'Master.'
