Abstract

The title-page of Hugh Rhodes lost ballad, 'The Song of the Chyld-Bysshop,' claims the ballad was performed for the Queen at St James-in-the-Fields on St Nicholas Day by the child bishop of St Paul's. The ballad survives only as a reference in Wharton's History of English Poetry.
