Abstract

Simon Jewel, a player with the Earl of Pembroke's Men, writes his will on 19 August 1592. He notes a debt to be paid from his 'fellowes for my share of apparrell the somm of thirteene pounde six shillinges eighte pence.' Among his debts owing are 'the sixte share out of thirteene pounde six shillinge eighte pence,' to be paid to 'mr Iohnson' with his 'fellowes shares.' He bestows 'all my playenge thinges in a box and my velvet shewes' to Robert Nicholls.
