Abstract

Thomas Dekker deposes that his only guilt in the matricide at Whitechapel is to have written the first act and a speech in the final scene of 'The Late Murder in Whitechapel, or Keep the Widow Waking,' a play based on the crime. He observes that the play was licensed and approved by Sir Henry Herbert, the Master of Revels.
