Abstract

Alexander Reyson played his master's prize on 30 April 1583 at the Curtain in Holywell at four weapons: the long sword, the back sword, the sword and buckeler, and the staff. He played against four masters of defence: William Mathewes, Francis Calvert, John Goodwen, and Isaac Kennard. He was admitted master under master William Joyner.
