Abstract

Edward Alleyn acquires the lease on the Fortune property from Patrick Brewe. Alleyn paid an undisclosed sum, and Brewe bound himself to Alleyn for £250. The lease enumerates the six tenements belonging to the property, and notes that five are situated on the east side of Golden Lane and the sixth 'on the west side of the Whitecross Street in the said parish of St Giles Cripplegate.'
