Abstract

Henry Herbert records a payment of £3 from Christopher Beeston for an old play called 'Hymen's Holiday,' recently revived at the Phoenix. Herbert received an additional £1 for his making alterations to the original. He further notes that he met with Beeston at 'the ould exchange' and received a pair of gloves for his wife, 'that cost him at least twenty shillings.'
