Collier cites this epigram in relation to a payment recorded in Henslowe's Diary to a man named Whittington, and suggests he may have been a silent partner in the Fortune. No payment to any Whittington appears in the Diary as edited by Greg or Foakes and Rickert, so this is likely one of Collier's inventions.
